My Story

I live in gorgeous rural Isle of Wight now, but I graduated from Sir John Cass in London with an Honours Degree in Jewellery, Silversmithing and Alied Crafts in 1987. From my very first day at the bench on my degree course, I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do.

After I graduated I worked with three well established London jewellers before setting up as a bespoke jeweller some years ago. My style and craft has evolved over the years to the very free, almost painterly style of my jewellery today.

I've always loved flowers, one of my earliest memories is picking crocuses for my mother from our garden early one Mother's Day morning when I was very small.  I want to bring to life that feeling of joy in my jewellery.  My pieces are feminine, beautiful, unusual.

I am fascinated by the structure of flowers, their differences and similarities and I feel very connected to nature as I work on my pieces and see them take take shape. My beautiful and ornate botanical statement necklaces and gemstone cocktail rings are inspired by my love of the countryside around me and the flowers I grow in my garden. I use sustainable recycled gold and silver and a combination of traditional silversmithing and jewellery techniques. I hand pierce flowers and leaves from gold and silver, then shape them using hammers and steel tools, reusing every bit of scrap for some of the smallest details, nothing is wasted. The tiny detailed leaves with engraved veins and closely observed plants are brought to life with a freedom of design and manufacture.

One of the highlights of my career was being a featured competitor jeweller on BBC2's 'All that Glitters', a challenging but personally rewarding experience!

Monet is quoted as saying "I want to paint the way a bird sings"  This completely resonates with me, I feel I am a painter with precious metal.

Your part in my story

The most heart-warming part of my job is to make something beautiful and meaningful for somebody else, to see it received with joy and know it will be worn and loved, a future heirloom.

Often made with heritage gold, or with a secret meaningful aspect to the design. I am passionate about making by hand, using sustainable recycled gold and silver to bring to life a unique piece that has a special meaning for someone else.

It is a an honour to be able to create a dream piece of jewellery that will bring a little happiness to the wearer every time they put it on.

I work closely with you to design your ideal and unique piece of jewellery and once the design has been finalised, you get regular updates and 'work in progress' photos along the way.

I look forward to making you a truly beautiful and unique piece of jewellery.
